Dos: -

  • Give specifics
  • Use accurate adjectives
  • Focus the job description on job
  • Allow for flexibility
  • Keep job description current
Don’ts: -
  • Using subjective terms, opinions or recommendations
  • Using words that raise a question of discrimination
  • Using general wording or jargon or technical terms
  • Including anything specific about a person who previously held the position
  • Gloss over essential vs. non-essential function
  • Describing duties to perform in future
